Blot-(Capsicum annuum) - The Blot pepper comes to us from Eastern Europe close to Russia. It is called Klyaksa which means Blur or Blot in the Russian language. It has this name for the colorful blotches of burnt orange and purple that appear on the Blot chile. The plants produce average bell pepper size peppers. They are extremely sweet, juicy and crunchy with no heat at all. The Blot peppers are great for sauces, stuffing, roasting, pickling and salads. The Blot chile plants grow just over 2 feet tall and are very productive.

The fruit is about 3 inches—almost the size of a peach—with a yellow rind and fruity-tasting white flesh. They start out green and then turn yellow as they ripen.

You can spot a perfectly ripe melon in the same way you would a mango. It should feel heavier than it looks and have a slightly sweet aroma. Press gently on the end furthest from the stem—this should be slightly soft. Most of mine pulled away from the vine very easily.
